Maid of Honor Duties: Food Tasting #1

As you all know I am the Maid of Honor in my brother’s wedding this October. Part of my duties is to assist the bride as often as possible, in this case attend different things related to the nuptials (i.e. Wedding Fairs, Food Tastings, of course the Fitting).

Last Saturday I attended one of the many food tastings for the wedding. The couple’s chosen caterer is Juan Carlo Catering and they are very nice and accommodating.

The food tasting was set up at Fernwood Gardens and they know how to deck a place out. What caught my eye the most was the centerpiece, I loved the candles with seashells and the flowers.

My mouth watered once they put the plate of food in front of me. They offer a lot of choices for you.

There are two sets of entrees, they give a different plate of food for each guest so that you and whoever you are with can taste both sets.

We started with three kinds of soups (Not pictured) Cream of Fresh Mushroom Soup, Cream of Asparagus Soup and Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Truffle Oil. We had three because the Pumpkin Soup was not yet done when we arrived. Two of the soups had a side of bread which were Olive Ciabatta and Garlic and Basil Foccacia. They also served refreshing Green Cucumber Lemonade and Pink Guava Lemonade.

Plate 1 (Left) consists of Pork Geneva Style, Chicken Galantine, Beef Kaldertang Batangas, Norwegian Pink Salmon in Tequila Cream Sauce, Bouquet of Green Vegetables, Fresh Tomato Pasta, and Morrocan Rice.

Plate 2 (Right) consists of Roast Pork with Prunes and Walnuts, Grilled Chicken Breast with Piri-Piri Sauce, Ox Tongue with Buttered Mushroom, Fish Fillet with Homemade Tartar Sauce, Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables in Oyster Sauce, Angel Hair Puttanesca, and Steamed Fragrant Rice.

For dessert they served Rocky Road Brownies, Mango Cheesecake, Coffee Magnifico, Buko Lychee Jello.

We loved the food but of course there were stand out dishes. The Norwegian Salmon, Roast Porks with Prunes and Walnuts, Fresh Tomato Pasta, and Coffee Magnifico were a few of my favorites. They have a few more tastings in line for the bride and room, I’m sure will be as great as this one.

Juan Carlo Catering does not disappoint, they give you their full attention and takes care of you. I do suggest to give them a call if you are interested on having a party catered. You won’t be sorry.
